Building upon insecure foundations

Gilding one’s cherished but doubtful ego

Is all but wasted time and squandered gold

Time and treasure flow away like water

Leaving behind compelling legacies:

Dust and waste at bottom of vanity

Or enduring masterpiece sparkling clean.
