Requiem to requiem
Life’s all an eternal wake
Lazarus rose – but one take
I’ve died far too many times
’Tween one miracle till next;
I’m not wishful, no pretext
Bar heart stopping surprises
Till reality seeps in
Defibrillates, entices
To live again, unexplained
For life’s never ‘meant to be’
’Cos there’s always more to being.

I, the last bud be borne
After ye passing storms
For I follow no norm
That sweeps the paths so clean
Of wide and ambled ease
That none is left for glean
For I have travailed Hope
With faith so perilled steep
Coming last, never least
My tears did pensive peep
Up on heavenly peaks,
The laggard’s last to speak.
